Advanced fluorescence microscopy for chemistry, biology, medicine and agriculture, including quantitative image analysis
Visualize biological processes with exceptional resolution and quantitative precision. We deliver advanced fluorescence microscopy services for applications in chemistry, biology, medicine and agriculture.
Our instrumentation includes 2× light-sheet microscopy, Airyscan and inverted Airyscan imaging, spinning-disk confocal microscopy, Elyra super-resolution microscopy with SIM and PALM, as well as FRAP and FRET. We support the entire workflow—from experimental design and sample preparation strategy to image acquisition, quantitative analysis and publication-quality visualization.
Our services include:
- Live-cell and time-resolved imaging to study cellular dynamics.
- 3D imaging of cells, tissues, organs and organoids.
- Super-resolution microscopy for structures below the diffraction limit.
- Tissue clearing and whole-organ imaging of fixed samples.
- Analysis of fluorescent dyes, biosensors and chemical probes in living cells.
We also provide high-quality microscopy-based analyses for determining ploidy and karyotype in plant lines, as well as sensitive detection and detailed characterization of bacterial, fungal and symbiotic microorganisms. These services support accurate diagnostics, plant breeding and crop-protection research.
We offer specialized fluorescence microscopy analysis of plant cell walls, with emphasis on cellulose, pectins, lignin and suberin. Our advanced imaging approaches reveal the composition and spatial organization of these essential structures, supporting plant research, breeding programs and quality evaluation of plant materials.
Transform complex imaging datasets into clear, measurable results. Using ZEN and Arivis software, we provide:
- Segmentation of bacteria, cells, nuclei and other organelles.
- 3D reconstruction, volumetric measurements and spatial analysis.
- Automated image-analysis pipelines for efficient and reproducible workflows.
- 3D data visualisation and conversion of datasets into publication-ready figures.
Tailored training courses and workshops in advanced fluorescence microscopy, ZEN/Arivis image analysis, segmentation and quantitative analysis of cellular compartments.
Immunoblotting: detection and quantification of protein abundance, post-translational modifications and oligomerisation
Obtain robust information on protein abundance, modification and assembly. We detect and quantify plant proteins using specific antibodies and immunoblotting.
Our services include the analysis of protein phosphorylation, oxidative modifications and other post-translational modifications using immunoblotting and immunoaffinity chromatography. We can also assess the oligomeric state of target proteins.
Assessment of plant antioxidant-system capacity
Evaluate how effectively plants respond to oxidative stress. We provide a comprehensive analysis of plant antioxidant capacity, focusing on key enzymatic and non-enzymatic defense mechanisms.
We analyze selected antioxidant enzymes and low-molecular-weight antioxidants that play central roles in plant stress tolerance and physiological adaptation. This service is relevant to stress physiology studies, breeding, biostimulant testing and evaluation of crop management strategies.
Detection of protein-protein interactions
Identify and validate molecular interactions underlying biological processes. We detect protein-protein interactions using bimolecular fluorescence complementation (BiFC) and yeast two-hybrid assays.
Depending on the project, we can provide construct design and preparation, interaction analysis and quantitative evaluation. We also offer co-immunoprecipitation combined with immunoblotting, provided that transgenic plants expressing the tagged protein of interest are supplied. Samples may also be prepared for proteomic interactome analysis.
Recombinant protein production
Fast, efficient recombinant protein production for research and biotechnology. We provide end-to-end production of recombinant proteins in the Escherichia coli expression system.
Our service covers expression-strategy design, optimization of production conditions and purification of target proteins. This platform is suitable for producing a wide range of proteins for research, biochemical assays and biotechnological applications.
Molecular detection of important pathogen-resistance genes in barley and other species and subspecies of the genus Hordeum
Support efficient breeding through reliable marker-based selection. We perform molecular detection of important pathogen-resistance genes in cultivated barley and other species and subspecies of the genus Hordeum.
Using a range of DNA-marker systems, we enable accurate and reliable identification of resistant plants for barley breeding programs.
Genetic transformation and gene editing in alfalfa
We provide stable genetic transformation and gene editing in alfalfa (Medicago sativa) using Agrobacterium-mediated transformation and somatic embryogenesis. This service supports functional genomics, trait development and breeding-oriented research.
Molecular detection of important genes for marker-assisted selection in breeding programs of alfalfa and other species and subspecies of the genus Medicago
We provide molecular detection of genes relevant to marker-assisted selection in alfalfa and other species and subspecies of the genus Medicago. Using appropriate DNA markers, we support accurate selection of plants with desirable traits related to productivity, quality, resilience and disease resistance.
Drone-based monitoring and targeted treatment of fields, forests, orchards and parks, including sampling from tree and shrub canopies for phytopathological, biological, ecological and biochemical studies
Access plants and tree canopies safely, precisely and efficiently. Our maneuverable drones enable remote monitoring and collection of buds, leaves, stems, flowers, fruits and parasitic plants from fields, forests, orchards and parks.
The collected material can be used in biological, phytopathological, ecological and biochemical studies, including investigations of bacteria, fungi, parasitic plants, birds and insects. Drone-based services can be combined with follow-up laboratory experiments using modern biochemical, molecular and microscopic methods.
Our drones can be equipped with the adjustable Green Doctor spraying system, enabling highly targeted application of plant growth regulators, insecticides, herbicides and biological-control products directly into tree canopies. We also provide high-resolution aerial photography and AI-assisted image analysis.
Commercial use of modern phytotrons, growth chambers and a climate-controlled, year-round greenhouse with a phytopathology section
Test plants under precisely controlled and reproducible conditions. We offer commercial access to selected modern phytotrons, growth chambers and a climate-controlled, year-round greenhouse with a dedicated phytopathology section.
Our facilities are suitable for in vivo and in vitro plant cultivation, testing of new cultivars and varieties, and quantitative assessment of plant responses to defined conditions. Projects may address abiotic and biotic stresses, including pathogenic and beneficial microorganisms, as well as chemical and physical factors, pesticides, plant growth regulators and other biologically active compounds.
