Université Paris-Est Créteil – our partner in the Aurora network – invites students, PhD candidates, and young researchers to the summer school Senescence and Aging: From Molecular Mechanisms to Multiscale Interventions, which will take place on 25–26 September 2025 in Créteil (France) and will also be fully available online. The two-day event will focus on senescence and aging – from fundamental molecular mechanisms to potential interventions in clinical practice and public health.
Aging is a complex process that involves cellular, tissue, and systemic changes. The summer school will offer insights into the latest research in areas such as:
-
epigenetic clocks and the role of mitochondria,
-
interactions between the immune system and senescent cells,
-
the use of big data, spatial multiomics, and epigenetic editing,
-
senolytic strategies and other therapeutic approaches.
Participants will also learn how these findings can be translated from the laboratory into practice – whether in clinical interventions, drug development, or issues of public health and policies related to age-associated diseases.
Who can participate
The summer school is designed primarily for students and young researchers in molecular biology, genetics, immunology, bioinformatics, pharmacology, or clinical disciplines. It will also be of interest to those engaged in biotechnological innovations or the policy aspects of population aging. The two-day program will feature not only expert lectures, but also panel discussions and opportunities for networking. Participants will have the chance to meet leading scientists, clinicians, and policy experts, and to discuss how to address the challenges of an aging society.
