The 2022 Jean-Marie Lehn Prize for Chemistry went to the UP Faculty of Science. It was won by Veronika Šedajová, a doctoral student of physical chemistry, for her research into new materials derived from graphene for storing electrical energy. The prize was awarded by the French Embassy in the Czech Republic with partner organizations Solvey and the Czech Chemical Society.
Veronika Šedajová received the award on Thursday, 23 June 2022 in the Music Room of the Buquoy Palace in Prague. In addition to the financial reward, she also received a one-month internship in a French laboratory of her choice.
The French Embassy, together with the partner organisations, awarded a total of 18 scientific prizes in the categories of Chemistry, Computer Science and Informatics, Medicine, Pharmaceutics, Nuclear Research, and Environmental and Climate Research under the slogan “Make Our Planet Great Again”. All the award ceremonies took place in person this year.
