Student evaluations
Evaluate the summer semester anonymously by 27 June 2025, via eval.upol.cz or in the app UPlikace.
The aim of evaluations is to obtain information from as many students as possible about the quality of teaching, the consistency of its specific content with the content announced in the course annotation, the methods used in teaching and the approach of the teachers. All this information is crucial in order to continuously improve the quality of teaching in all these areas. Evaluation applies to all subjects taught. More information here.
Teaching Awards UP
Once again, Palacký University Olomouc wants to award its best teachers. The second year of the university-wide competition UP Teaching Awards has been announced, whereby students themselves can nominate their teachers. Nominations can be submitted until October this year. As in the first year, the award will have two categories based on the length of teaching experience. The best teachers can receive either the Junior Teaching Award if they have been teaching for less than five years, or the Senior Teaching Award if they have been teaching longer. More information here.
Falling Walls Lab Czech Republic
The National Technical Library will host the 10th edition of the Falling Walls Lab Czech Republic international competition, which aims to bring together the next generation of great scientists and innovators. They can come up with a breathtaking idea - a scientific project, a business plan or a social initiative that will break down all walls and barriers.
Competitors' presentations will be in English in a pitch-talk format that is no more than three minutes long. It does not matter whether the topic is computer science or medicine, economics or engineering, philosophy, robotics, chemistry, art or agriculture – the competition is open to anyone who is convinced of their idea and can convince others of it. Students of all degrees are welcome, even Ph.D. and postdocs. Application here.
The Czech final of the international Falling Walls project will take place on 15 September 2025 at 17:00 at the National Technical Library in Prague and the deadline for applications is 30 June 2025. The winner of the national round will represent the Czech Republic at the global final in Berlin, which is regularly organized on the eve of the anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. This year it will take place on 7-9 November 2025.

Organization and Maintenance
Parking in the Envelopa campus
Employees are reminded that it is necessary to follow the traffic signs in the Envelopa campus. It is also necessary to have the UP parking card visibly displayed, as the Olomouc City Police regularly checks compliance with the traffic rules in the area.
At the same time, we ask all drivers to observe considerate parking (e.g. do not park across two parking spaces, do not park in spaces designated for electric vehicles near the charging station, etc.).
During August and September, the data will be updated and the UP Faculty of Science parking cards will be replaced - the new cards will be equipped with security features.
Miscellaneous
Tram service closure
From Wednesday, 21 May 2025 to Thursday, 12 June 2025, tram traffic will be suspended in the Hlavní nádraží – Envelopa section. There will be repairs to the tracks and roads in the area of the intersection of Kosmonautů x 17. listopadu x Wittgensteinova streets, and repairs to the bridge over the Morava River at Kosmonautů.
In connection with this construction project, we are enclosing the closure timetable for line no. 13 (from 28. 5. to 11. 6.). This line will be routed between the Hlavní nádraží and Vejdovského stops along a detour route via Jeremenkova - tř. Kosmonautů - Vejdovského without servicing the stops 17. listopadu and Envelopa. The Kosmonautů stop will be serviced on the detour route. In the opposite direction, i.e. between the Vejdovského and Hlavní nádraží stops, the line will run along its route with service to the Envelopa and 17. listopadu stops. Selected connections will not go to the final stop Hlavní nádraží, but will be routed from Masarykova třída past the Clarion Hotel directly to the Kosmonautů stop (passenger drop-off and pick-up) and will continue along a detour route in the direction of Šlechtitelů.
