MEYS  mobilities CR-FR

The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports has announced a call for applications for the provision of grant 8J26FR for the implementation of bilateral research, development and innovation projects Czech Republic – France within the activity Support for mobility of researchers within the framework of international cooperation in R&D&I. Deadline for sending the project application to the provider is 29 May 2025, faculty deadline is 19 May 2025 – delivery of the green request form + brief project information. The project proposal itself must be submitted no later than 23 May 2025 by 12:00. The tender documentation and other documents can be found in the link. Queries may be addressed to Ing. MEYS  mobilities CR-DE

International and Non-university Affairs

Mandatory reporting of mobilities

Every mobility, regardless of the source of funding, must be reported at least one month before its start to Mgr. Marie Raková at marie.rakova@upol.cz from the International section of the Student Affairs Office. Outgoing mobilities are primarily reported by students, incoming mobilities by the department. Details can be found on the faculty website.

Records of foreign guests

It is the responsibility of the department to register foreign guests. If you have international guests visiting your department, enter their information in the Portal as follows:

  • click on "All Applications" in your Portal
  • click on the "Guest Admission" tile
  • press the "+New" button and fill out the newly opened form.

Mobility scholarship

A student who goes on any mobility abroad for 30 days or more (study stay, research internship, work placement, summer school, etc.), can apply for a scholarship of CZK 5,000 for each mobility. The request must be submitted before departure. Details here.

Co-financing of trips and internships abroad

If the primary source does not cover all the necessary costs, it is possible to apply for additional funding for student internships or employee trips abroad. The completed and signed application form (for students, for employees) send either by internal mail to Waleria Slowiková (Student Affairs Office) or send a signed scan to waleria.slowikova@upol.cz. Student Affairs

Dormitory reservation

Current UP students (accommodated and non-accommodated) and students already admitted to the 1st year of study for the academic year 2025/2026 can apply for accommodation in the dormitories from 24 April 2025.

  • Until 5 May 2025, currently accommodated students will be able to make a reservation with priority, only for their current room
  • From 6 May 2025, all students (with a positively processed request) will be able to make a reservation in any dormitory and any vacant place, only until the accommodation capacity is exhausted.

Students submit their applications electronically in the ISKAM accommodation system. A necessary condition for a fixed reservation of a place is the payment of the security in full and signing the Accommodation Contract within 14 days of making your booking. More information here.

You can print your confirmation of study online directly from your Portal (not STAG).

Organization and Maintenance

Information from the Holice Campus Building Administration

From Monday 12 May 2025 a standard controlled mode of vehicle arrival to the Holice campus will be introduced at entrance no. 3 from Technologická street, which will be the same as for other entrances to the campus.

Entry to the campus will be automatically allowed only to registered vehicles, after the vehicle license plate has been read by the camera system, or via the identification card of an employee of Palacký University in Olomouc with the set authorization to enter the campus, using the ID card reader on the post in front of the barrier. Exit from the campus is allowed to all vehicles via the exit induction loop. Vehicles of transport services (PPL, TOPTRANS, DPD, etc.) will be allowed entry only by the campus security. For occasional arrival to the campus (visits, etc.), only entrance no. 1 with a gatehouse will be used.

If you do not have permission to enter the premises or have registered your vehicle in our camera system, you can request it through your supervisor.

Entrance No. 3 will be closed at night, on weekends and holidays. On Friday, 9 May 2025, a test run will take place in the presence of building management staff, who will inform drivers of arriving vehicles about this change.

Miscellaneous

Canteen

The UP Canteens will remain closed on 2 and 9 May 2025 for operational and technical reasons. Electrical equipment and wiring will be reviewed, as well as minor repairs and upgrades to the KREDIT system.

Landscapes in the Head - Botanical Garden exhibition

May is one of the most beautiful times of the year at the Botanical Garden. In addition to plants, the Josef Otruba Hall will be decorated with landscape paintings by Radim Hédl, a prominent Czech ecologist and artist. The “Landscapes in the Head” exhibition offers a unique insight into his artistic work. Large-scale oils and acrylics on canvas created between 2000 and 2010 will be presented.

The opening reception for the exhibit will be held on 6 May at 17:30 in the Botanical Garden of the Faculty of Science.

GeoGuessr

¡Dónde estamos? Can you tell if you're in Colombia or Chile from a single shot? If so, take two partners, your keen eyes and come discover the colourful streets, remote mountains and endless pampas of Latin America! This diverse continent is the setting for the May edition of GeoGuessr game! Our expedition begins on 13 May at 17:30 in room 3.005. Simply register HERE and the adventure can begin.

Olomouc Runs for the Planet

Join the Olomouc Runs for the Planet chaity run and support the endangered Kahau monkeys in Borneo and environmental education. Every step will support the non-profit organization Save Balikpapan Bay. Specifically, their Education4Conservation project, which connects hands-on nature conservation and environmental education in Indonesia, Africa, and also here in the Czech Republic. The run will take place on 13 May 2025 at 18:00.

UP Sports Day

UP Sports Day will take place on Wednesday 14 May 2025. A day off has been granted by the Rector for this day and all physical activities within the Sports Day will be free of charge for both UP employees and students. A detailed schedule of sports activities offered can be found here.

Entrepreneurial Head

The Palacký University Science and Technology Park in Olomouc (VTP UP) announces the 15th year of the Entrepreneurial Head competition, the aim of which is to award the best business ideas not only of Palacký University students, but also of aspiring or experienced entrepreneurs from the public. The winner will receive a grand prize of CZK 50,000, advice and consultation with mentors worth CZK 130,000, a year's lease of a workplace in Olomouc's Element Coworking or a 50% discount on a year's office lease. Applications for the competition can be submitted until 20 May 2024.

For the sixteenth time, students and employees of Palacký University, as well as other aspiring entrepreneurs from the entire Olomouc region, can apply for the Entrepreneurial Head competition organised by the Palacký University Science and Technology Park in Olomouc (VTP UP). Those who have an idea for their own business and want to take it a step further now have two months to submit the application. They can compete for prizes worth CZK 400,000, which are intended to support the successful implementation of their projects. After the initial registration on the website, the necessary documents for the business plan must be submitted by 20 May 2025.
