Introductory word

Dear colleagues, dear students,

the last pre-holiday newsletter is normally devoted to the successfully completed academic year. This year, due to the pandemic of a new type of coronavirus, the boundaries between the different phases of the academic year are somewhat blurry, state final examinations are still ongoing and students have been granted extra time to finish their obligations. The deadline is now September 15. I would like to thank all staff for their tremendous commitment and flexibility in coping with this unexpected situation. I wish students successful passing of exams, successful completion of studies or advancement to the next year. I also wish everyone to regain strength during the shortened holidays before the new academic year.

Faculty Operation

Air conditioning system maintenance
In April of this year, an inspection including regular cleaning of indoor air conditioning units was carried out. Indoor air conditioning units undergo regular maintenance twice a year (spring, fall). The evaporator and filter were disinfected for each unit. The cooling systems are OK.

Disinfection
The production of disinfection will continue to be provided by the Department of Organic Chemistry, while the supply of alcohol, distribution and storage of disinfection will be provided by the Building Administration. In case of a larger quantity purchase or outside the faculty purchase, please contact Ing. Ondřej Kolář (ondrej.kolar@upol.cz, tel. 777 775 737).

Hand sanitizers is provided by the faculty at all workplaces, washrooms and at entrances. Disinfection on the premises of the faculty is provided by the operational department of the building administration, which is also in charge of continuous replenishment. In case of lack of disinfection, call Mrs. Věra Holišová, tel. 733 690 766. The building management also ensures disinfection and washing of surfaces.

Reduction of hot water quality
Due to the limited operation of all buildings, we ask employees to regularly release hot water (in laboratories, offices, classrooms, kitchens, etc.). Draining the water should last 2-3 minutes every day or until it smells of chlorine.

We would like to warn all employees that there is still a ban on showering in the building on 17. listopadu 50, due to the poor quality of hot water.

Until the removal of Legionella bacteria from the pipelines is resolved, the employees of the building can use the showers on the 1st floor of the building on 17. listopadu 50a or in the main building of the Faculty of Science - 17. listopadu 12.

Update of data for parking cards and termination of TAGMASTER operation
We ask employees to notify Mr. Zlámal by e-mail (filip.zlamal@upol.cz) of changes to data in parking card register (license plate, change of phone number, etc.). We would also like to point out that the parking card must be placed in a visible place behind the windshield not only in the underground garages, but also in the marked parking spaces around the faculty.

In the coming days, the system of access to the underground garages, the so-called TAGMASTER, which provided access to the garages without the use of an employee card, will be definitively terminated.

Due to the fact that the cards were assigned in the name and are kept in the CVT records, we requested their return to the SB by January 31, 2020, but if you still own the card, hand it over to Mr. Zlámal (box no. 35 - Envelopa Building Administration) no later than June 30, 2020. After this date, the building management will not accept the cards and you will have to contact the CVT. Cancellation from the register is important for the issuance of an exit sheet in the event of termination of employment of the employee.
