Introduction of the Aurora Alliance at the Faculty of Science

You are invited to the Aurora Alliance seminar, which will take place on April 25, 2022 from 14:00 in the lecture room 3.005 in the Envelopa campus. The Aurora Alliance will be introduced to you by Selma Porobić and Marie Jadrníčková from the RUP Partnership Department (UP Aurora Office). Vít Voženílek and Karel Berka will share their experiences with Aurora on behalf of the Faculty of Science. The seminar is held under the auspices of Vice-Dean Jan Petr. TA CR – TRANSPORT 2020+ Program: Announcement of the 4th public tender

The Technology Agency of the Czech Republic (TA CR) has announced the fourth public tender in the Program for the Support of Applied Research, Experimental Development and Innovation in the Field of Transport TRANSPORT 2020+.

The main goal of the program is to develop the transport sector in a way that will reflect social needs, accelerate the technological and knowledge development of the Czech Republic and thus help increase the competitiveness of the Czech Republic. TA CR – program to facilitate the digitization of small and medium-sized companies

A methodology for assessing the level of digital maturity of SMEs in the Czech Republic is being developed, and the platform for recognizing opportunities for business model transformations with software support is based on the latest knowledge, aspects of digital transformation and experience.

TA CR – call for proposals of candidates for 1 member of the board and chairwoman/chairman of the TA CR

In connection with the ending of the first term of office of a member of the board and the Chairman of the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic, the Council for Research, Development and Innovation announces, in accordance with relevant regulations, a call for nominations for 1 member of the Board and for the chairwoman/chairman of the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic. The Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic informs about the announcement of the first public tender in research, experimental development and innovation – the open call program in security research 2023–2029. Pamper Your Nature!

The Dean of the Faculty of Science announced the ninth Pamper Your Nature competition to support student projects to promote and improve the environment at the faculty. A full-time Bachelor, Master or Doctoral students at the Faculty of Science UP can participate in the competition. The prize is up to CZK 10,000! All projects must be finished and the final report submitted by June 10, 2022. Detailed conditions of the competition can be found here (in Czech).

Student Scientific Competition – Dean's Award

All students of the Faculty of Science in the sections Mathematics and Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Ecology, Earth Sciences and Didactics of Science can compete for extraordinary scholarships and valuable prizes. It is also possible to enrol in the poster section. The competition takes place on May 5, 2022, you can register until May 1 on this website, where you will also find detailed information about the competition (in Czech).

Information on the possibilities of Erasmus + study stays for the upcoming winter semester 2022/2023 can be found on this website (in Czech). We remind you that all student mobility must be reported in advance to Mrs. Dana Gronychová by e-mail: dana.gronychova@upol.cz. Otherwise, the trip will not be recorded in the STAG system and will not be displayed on the Diploma Supplement.

Podcasts of the Faculty of Science

The Faculty of Science of Palacký University has prepared a new podcast series entitled “Věda očima ženy” (Science through the woman’s eyes), which will gradually introduce women scientists who are significantly involved in the research and training of university and doctoral students.

The first podcast presents Dr. Lucie Brulíková from the Department of Organic Chemistry. She is an inspirational scientist who addresses issues related to current threats to human health. She leads her own research group and focuses on medicinal chemistry, specifically the development of new antituberculotics. The interview can be also found on the YouTube channel of the UP Faculty of Science.

The podcast “Jak na Přírodu” (How to get to the Faculty of Science) is intended for high school students and for all those interested in studying at the Faculty of Science. In 42 episodes, students present their individual fields of study, stays abroad, various student activities and life in Olomouc.

The Faculty of Science will celebrate its 70th anniversary next year. Thousands of its graduates have achieved remarkable results in their field. The podcast “Kam po Přírodě” (Where to go after graduating from the Faculty of Science) is dedicated to these interesting and inspiring personalities.

Conference Advances in Chromatography and Electrophoresis & Chiranal 2022

The Department of Analytical Chemistry is organizing another year of the conference "Advances in Chromatography and Electrophoresis & Chiranal 2022" at the Faculty of Science and the Fort Science of Palacký University. New trends, experiences and applications in the field of separation methods will be presented by Czech and foreign scientists from academic workplaces as well as representatives of the commercial sphere, who will present new technology and laboratory equipment. You can experience a rich scientific as well as socio-cultural experience during June 13 – 16, 2022.

Charity concert "In a common voice"

The Ozembóch Academic trio, together with organist Filip Žurek, a student at the Faculty of Science, invite you to a concert called "Společným hlasem" (In a common voice), which will take place on May 8 from 19:00 in the Husův sbor church of the Czechoslovak Hussite Church in Olomouc. Proceeds from the voluntary entrance fee will be donated to the account of People in Need – SOS Ukraine.

Botanical Garden

The Botanical Garden of the Faculty of Science is open again. At present, a number of interesting spring geophytes bloom in it, which you can admire throughout April from 8:00 to 16:00. More on this website (in Czech).
