Pospos will complete the summer term
Pospos gathering is an inseparable part of the end of each term at the Faculty of Science. This time Pospos will take place on June 14 on Holice campus, Šlechtitelů street 27. The symbolic completion of the summer semester and the whole academic year will begin at 12:00. We cordially invite all staff, PhD students and seniors of the Faculty to join us.
"We all have a lot on our plates during semester and there is not much time left to talk to colleagues from other departments. Pospos is an opportunity to remedy that. In addition, employees and PhD candidates from Envelopa faculty building will have an opportunity to get to know the campus in Holice, " said Ivo Frébort, the Dean.
The Building Maintenance is again in charge of organizing the event and will provide refreshments. "We will prepare grilled chicken and pork steaks, sausages and smoked pork meat. Fruit and vegetable salads will also be served, and we won´t forget to prepare popular French cakes, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beer and kofola," promised Věra Holišová, the Head of the department.
The last informal gathering in Holice took part in June 2015, last year Pospos was held in the Stronghold of Knowledge. However, in winter organizers rely on the facilities of the main faculty building in Envelopa.
Science and Research
- Please note an additional vacancy in the Fulbright Specialist program, which is designed for two to six week stays of specialists from the USA. Applications shall be submitted by June 25, and the stay is required from October to December 2017. Detailed information about the program as well as an application form is available here. - Werner von Siemens Award 2017
The Czech branch of Siemens will again award successful students and academics - researchers and teachers. Participants can compete in five categories:
- the most important result of basic research
- the most important result of development / innovation
- the best Master theses
- the best dissertation
- the best pedagogue
Moreover two special prizes will be awarded this year too: the best Doctoral thesis written by a women and a special award for overcoming obstacles of study. The authors of the best theses will share a total financial reward amounting CZK 1 million.
A reward of CZK 5 000 is determined for those who nominate a future winner. The deadline for submitting applications is November 27. For further information please contact Lucie Rumlová

For Students
- Information about the registration into higher grades of study programs
Students must complete their study obligations by September 4 in order to register into higher grades of study programs or to apply for study extension. However, they shall not submit their credit list and registration list A this time. All study results must be written and confirmed in their credit book and also recorded in Stag system by the same date. It is no longer possible to take any exams or make any records to Stag after the deadline.
- Study extension
Students of the second and third year of Bachelor study programs and students of the second year of Master study programs who will not conclude their studies by September 4 before their state final examination or the defense of their thesis, must apply for study extension by this date.
- Graduation Ceremony
We kindly ask students who wish to participate in graduation ceremonies in June to confirm their presence by writing an email to the relevant employee of Department of Study. Fee payment instructions are available on the website of the Faculty, were also graduation schedule will be posted on June 15.
- Graduation ceremony of Doctoral study programs will be held on June 7 in the auditorium of the Faculty of Law at 11:45 a.m.
- Doctoral study program student evaluation
We kindly request students of Doctoral Study Programs to deliver their student evaluation for past academic year to the Study Department of the Faculty of Science by June 30. It must include
the signature of the student and statement of his/her supervisor that recommends/doesn´t recommend proceeding to the next year.
Students of the fourth and higher years shall also apply for study extension. The application must again include statement and signature of the supervisor.
- Unipetrol Foundation will support students with an amount up to CZK 3 mil. this year
The Unipetrol Foundation scholarship program is designed for students with excellent study results focusing on natural science disciplines with emphasis on chemistry and technology, while their financial difficulties may hinder their development and education. This scholarship is available for Czech students of high schools and universities. The deadline for submitting applications is June 30. Detailed information is available here.
International and outer University Information
- Korean Institute of Science and Technology offers up to 10 scholarships for students from the Czech Republic. If you submit your application to Mr. Svačina at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Seoul by June 9, you may study Master od Doctoral study programs in the fields such as Nano & Information Technology, Nanomaterials Science & Engineering, Biological Chemistry, Energy & Environment Engineering, etc. with the support of the Institute. Faculty Operation
- As of June 2, all faculty employees in Holice campus may again park their vehicles on the temporarily adapted area between entrance gates.
