Introductory word

Dear colleagues,

with the end of the year approaching , let me look back at how the faculty sailed through 2019. Most study programs have successfully undergone institutional accreditation process and will be accredited to 2028. The remaining programs should be accredited next year, which bring considerable administrative relief for staff involved in this agenda at departments as well as for much of the faculty administration. We managed to complete large-scale construction projects on the campus in Holice and, in particular, modernize the physics laboratories at Envelopa, an event that is unprecedented in its history in terms of technology. This should also bring considerable relief to the operation of the faculty next year.

I am most pleased by the distinct change in the atmosphere that was literally materialized on Thursday's Pospos. I had a chance to socialize with a lot of you at meetings, work assignments and at various events such as graduations, fairs, competitions, Scientists' Night and Open house. It is evident that the academic community of the faculty has become more vigorous, which fills me with the hope that we will successfully pass through future events. I would like to thank you for your dedicated work for the Faculty of Science and for its representation. To students  I would like to thank for their contribution to academic life at the Faculty, not only by fulfilling their study obligations but also by other activities that complete the atmosphere at the Faculty are the projects Pamper your Nature.

I wish everyone health, success at work, study as well as in personal life, inspiration and a stress-free new year.

Important information for project solvers: possibility of monitoring the state of budget spending
Each solver of a project, to which an SPP element has been assigned, has the possibility to monitor spending of the project budget through UP Portal. After logging in to https://portal.upol.cz/, "SAP" appears on the right in one of the menus.

After clicking on this menu, the solver will get to the page where he will select the option "Spending of SPP elements" on the left. There should appear SPP elements of projects that are assigned to the solver´s name (principal solver of the project). Subsequently, he/she enters the period for which he/she wants to determine the status of spending. The SAP record contains items posted to the given SPP element. In case of any queries, please contact Ivana Saitzová, Department of R&D at the Faculty of Science, e-mail: ivana.saitzova@upol.cz.

Faculty Operation

Pedestrian paved access - Envelopa
This year we have finished a paved path that connects the rear entrance of the building located on the ground floor above the entrance to the underground garage and sidewalk on 17. listopadu street. Employees can use this entry from 6:00 - 21:00.

Paved area PrF UP
Currently, a paved handling area in the Envelopa campus of the Faculty of Science is being completed, which may be used by employees for parking. Parking capacity is 27 parking spaces. In the course of next year the gate system will be put into operation, which will be controlled via employee cards.

Access to the underground garage
Next week, the renovation of the CCTV system in the building will be completed in the main Faculty building. There are now newly installed cameras in the underground garage that can read license plates. From December 16, 2019 to January 10, 2020 the system will be in trial operation. All vehicles that we have in our internal records should be admitted by the entrance gate automatically. For correct operation it is necessary to drive slowly and with spacing between vehicles. In the future, the system will inform about available capacity of underground garages.

Operation
We ask all employees to use only the exits in the central part of the building between 9pm and 6am. The building is secured at this time and the alarm is triggered by opening any other door. Thank you for your understanding.
