Introductory word

Dear students,

for the second time this year we have been forced to switch to distance form of study due to the Government´s regulation against spreading the Covid-19 epidemic since October 12. Apart from a ban of personal presence of students at lectures, with the only exception being examinations with maximum of 10 people present, we were also forced to cancel graduation ceremonies at PrF UP, which were to take place in November. The operation of the Study department has also been limited. Therefore, please contact your study assistants by email and eventual applications send by mail.

The Faculty of Science closely monitors the situation and continuously informs the academic community about the development of the situation and current measures on the website. As soon as the situation allows, we will return to face to face teaching, which is irreplaceable for most of our study programs.

Kind regards,

Jan Říha
Vice-dean for study matters

New applications for e-learning mode
The Computer Center has prepared two new applications for e-learning mode. The first of them allows anonymous voting, for example in state final exams. The same function can be achieved by using MS Forms or Google Forms; however, this application has been developed as user-friendly as possible.

The second application allows you to save any multimedia files and get a link to download resp. stream them. We mainly respond to users' questions about where to store large video files of lectures. This application allows the storage of large video files, with the provision that only links to these materials can be included in LMS systems, training materials or emails. This function can also be achieved with OneDrive or Google Drive; again, we responded to the demand for being maximum user-friendly.
