Introductory word

Dear students,
in 2021, the UP Faculty of Science will award one-off scholarships to authors of prestigious publications from among doctoral students studying during the regular study period (1st to 4th year). An extraordinary scholarship for publishing activities will be awarded to doctoral students who in 2021 report a publication as the first or corresponding author affiliated to the Faculty of Science, UP in a journal registered in the first or second quartile of the subject category (Q1 or Q2 in Subject Category, SC) according to Journal Citation Reports © (https://jcr.clarivate.com/). If the magazine falls into more than one SC, the SC with the highest percentile will be considered. The publication must have a release year of 2021 or be accepted for publication before applying for scholarship. The author can be awarded a scholarship only once for a specific publication. One author can apply for a scholarship for more than one publication.

Scholarships will be awarded in the spring round (deadline for collecting applications by June 15) and the autumn round (by November 15). Scholarships will be paid once in the following pay period. An amount of CZK 400,000 will be distributed in each round. The amount of the scholarship will depend on the number of applications received and the percentile of the journal's ranking in the SC.

The scholarship application must include:

• name and surname of the student
• the student's email address
• study program / field and year of study
• name, surname and e-mail address of the supervisor, or consent and signature of the supervisor
• full citation, including DOI, of the publication which is the subject of the application
• confirmation of acceptance for printing in the case of publications in press
• full text (Pre-proof) of the publication

Please submit scholarship applications to the Study Department of the Dean's Office of the Faculty of Science, UP (Mgr. Martina Karásková, Marcela Vykydalová) in the spring round by June 15, 2021.

GA CR - change of tender documentation for 2021
GA CR has published a notice on the change of some provisions of the tender documentation regarding eligible costs in ongoing projects in 2021.

TA CR - Delta 2 Program
The Technology Agency of the Czech Republic has announced the third public tender in the DELTA 2 Program for the Support of Applied Research, Experimental Development and Innovation. Detailed information and announcements can be found here. The affidavit for UPOL will be sent to the TA CR. Faculty deadline July 8, 2021. Prior to the submission of the project proposal, the consent of the Dean and the Faculty Secretary is required for the submission of the project. In case of any questions, please contact Mgr. Silvia Šavrňáková (silvie.savrnakova@upol.cz), who will send the form for consent, provide additional information and secure signatures on the application form.

Announcement of a one-level public tender for targeted support of the Ministry of Health
The Ministry of Health has announced a one-level public tender for targeted support for the solution of health research and development projects fulfilling the announced Program for the Support of Applied Health Research for 2020 - 2026. Detailed information can be found on the provider's website.

Application forms are available exclusively in the ISVP on-line application. If the person interested in submitting the project ("proposer") has not yet set up a user account in ISVP application, please contact Miriam Delongová (miriam.delongova@upol.cz, extension 4022). Send project proposals generated from the ISVP application (they must not be changed in any way - renamed, etc.) by June 24, 12:00 pm to miriam.delongova@upol.cz. At the same time, it is necessary to send the completed green covering sheet signed by the proposer and the head of the department by internal mail. The deadline of June 24, 2021 has been set so as to create a time reserve for matching the project proposal sent by the data box to the provider with the proposal in the ISVP application (in previous years the pairing did not take place on the first try, project proposals had to be sent repeatedly). We cannot guarantee control for project proposals that are sent after the deadline.

Furthermore, the Ministry of Health points out that the condition for submitting a project proposal to this public tender is the obligation to state the so-called "ORCID ID" for the proposer and co-proposer.

Protective measures on the conditions of entry into the Czech Republic
On May 3, the Ministry of Health issued updated protective measures on the conditions of entry into the Czech Republic. You can find a list of countries with a low, medium and high risk of infection here. Information on the conditions of entry into individual states is available at embassies in the given countries and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Quarantine measures and information for performing an RT-PCR test for the presence of SARS CoV-2 are the responsibility of the Ministry of Health.

Further obligations concerning entry into the territory of the Czech Republic can be found in the Rules for entry of persons into the territory of the Czech Republic according to the protective measure of the Ministry of Health.
