Commenting on contracts by the UP Legal Department

The Department of Project Support (DPS) would like to remind applicants that if their project proposal also includes the delivery of a consortium contract, the applicant will always forward the contract to the DPS, which will provide comments from the UP Legal Department via the Dean's Secretariat within up to 2 weeks.

Submission of project proposals at the Faculty of Science

All project proposers in the position of principal solvers and co-solvers submit the so-called "zelená košilka" form (i.e. Application for consent to submit a project proposal to the grant provider - signed by the head of the department and the applicant), including brief information about the project, to the Department of Project Support for the approval of the Dean, the Secretary (content, budget) and for the records. Without these consents, it is not possible to submit a project proposal. Information on administration can be found in the project administration manual (in Czech). MŽP – OPŽP Calls under Priority Axis 4 (Calls 160 and 161) - Nature and Landscape Protection and Care

The Operational Programme Environment (OP ŽP) has published 2 calls from the ongoing Operational Programme Environment 2014–2020. They concern support under Priority Axis 4 – Nature and Landscape Protection and Care. Queries may be addressed to Mgr. Silvie Šavrňáková (silvie.savrnakova@upol.cz). Faculty deadline: May 24, 2022.

MK – NAKI III Programme to support applied research in the field of national and cultural identity 2023 – 2030

The competition period ends on April 28, 2022 at 14:00. Project proposals can only be submitted by post or personal delivery to the registry office of the Ministry of Culture, so please kindly deliver all relevant documents to the DPS within the specified deadline or by prior agreement (Mgr. TA ČR - M-ERA.NET 3 Call 2022: International call in the field of materials research and innovation (faculty deadline June 8, 2022)

The international call ERA-NET Cofund M-ERA.NET 3 Call 2022, which is aimed at supporting projects in the field of materials research and innovation, has been opened since March 15, 2022. More on the DPS website. Queries may be addressed to Mgr. Silvie Šavrňáková (silvie.savrnakova@upol.cz).

TA ČR – THÉTA Programme: Announcement of the date and preliminary parameters of the 5th public tender

The Technology Agency of the Czech Republic (TA ČR) is preparing the 5th public tender of the program to support applied research and innovation THÉTA, with the announcement on June 1, 2022. The aim of the program is to contribute to fulfilling the vision of transformation and modernization of the energy sector in accordance with approved strategic materials. Study affairs

Window into Practice

Connect students with future employers is the purpose of the 15th 'Window into Practice' event, which will take place on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 from 10:00 to 15:00 at the Faculty of Science. Employers will offer internships, stays, part-time jobs, permanent jobs or consultations at the event. Students will have the opportunity to personally introduce themselves to the HR managers of individual companies, give them their CVs or discuss working conditions. The program will include thematically focused moderated discussions and also lectures, workshops, interviews or an interesting competition. Details can be found at www.oknodopraxe.upol.cz (in Czech). Pamper Your Nature!

The Dean of the Faculty of Science announced the ninth Pamper Your Nature competition to support student projects to promote and improve the environment at the faculty. A full-time Bachelor, Master or Doctoral students at the Faculty of Science UP can participate in the competition. The prize is up to CZK 10,000! All projects must be finished and the final report submitted by June 10, 2022. Detailed conditions of the competition can be found here (in Czech).

Student Scientific Competition – Dean's Award

All students of the Faculty of Science in the sections Mathematics and Informatics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Ecology, Earth Sciences and Didactics of Science can compete for extraordinary scholarships and valuable prizes. It is also possible to enrol in the poster section. The competition takes place on May 5, 2022, you can register until May 1 on this website, where you will also find detailed information about the competition (in Czech).

Erasmus+ in the winter semester 2022/2023

Information on the possibilities of Erasmus + study stays for the upcoming winter semester 2022/2023 can be found on this website (in Czech). We remind you that all student mobility must be reported in advance to Mrs. Dana Gronychová by e-mail: dana.gronychova@upol.cz. Otherwise, the trip will not be recorded in the STAG system and will not be displayed on the Diploma Supplement.

CRYTUR Award

The Crytur company (www.crytur.cz) in cooperation with the CareerMarket portal has announced already the seventh CRYTUR Award competition for the best diploma thesis in materials science. The deadline for applications is September 30, 2022. The thesis must be prepared in Czech, Slovak or English at one of the Czech or Slovak universities. Financial rewards in the total amount of CZK 90,000 await for the authors and supervisors of the three best works.

Inauguration

The inauguration of the Deans of the Faculty of Science, the Faculty of Education, the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Physical Education of Palacký University will take place in the Archbishop's Palace in Olomouc on Thursday, March 31, 2022 at 13:00.

Faculty for Ukraine

The material collection Faculty for Ukraine at the Faculty of Science continues. You can still donate dressings, first aid kits, military tourniquets/tactical medical tourniquets, warm clothes, men’s shoes, sleeping bags, mats, toiletries or durable food. It is possible to donate "Unišek" vouchers, for which the organizers will ensure the purchase of things for Ukraine. Repulsive or charming?

Several dozen different species of reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates will be on display in the Fort Science during the weekend of March 26 and 27. The 'Repulsive or Charming' event, which will take place in the Living Water exhibition, will feature the jewelled lizard – the largest European lizard, the Aesculapian snake – the longest snake in the Czech Republic and a number of invertebrates. In addition, the chemistry lab will run a program called Chemist Code, where people can try to turn water into wine, write a secret message or make hot ice. A snake creative workshop is also prepared.
