Student community garden – Václavka

The student community garden is located in the atrium of the Bedřich Václavek dormitory and students can use it for relax or picking herbs or vegetables. The Sustainable Palacký Association, which manages Václavka, received a ‘Million for Olomouc’ grant for its improvement. Over the course of the year, the garden underwent significant changes, which can now be used by university students. This includes, for example, a new composter or repaired and painted tables and benches. But the main news awaits students in the spring. Members of the association have built new raised beds in the garden, which from spring can be used by those interested in growing their own crops directly in the dormitory. The soil has also been replaced on the existing beds, so there will be plenty of space and quality soil. With the arrival of spring, the association will offer places for cultivation through reservations on its social networks. Thanks to the successful project, Václavka has become a more welcoming place for relaxation, study, meetings or garden parties. The next event organized by the Sustainable Palacký Association will be the traditional drinking of the punch, which will take place on December 7, 2022 from 16:00. The Sustainable Palacký Association hereby cordially invites all students to visit Václavka and the Advent meeting!
